I read Ewen Chia’s book “How I Made My First Million On The Internet and How You Can Too” and I loved it. I learned so much about how to organize my affliliate marketing campaign without feeling like I’m going in too many directions at once. I will occasionally expand on some of his comments here to further help you start an internet based business.
Ewen talks a lot about different types of marketing and how to use them to increase traffic to your website. He outlines a strategy that will lead you to build your business the right way. While I’m not going to rewrite his book here (I wouldn’t do it justice…read the book to get the skinny on the details), I very much like his ideas and want to give you a taste of why you should read this book.
I want to talk about organizing your campaign to where you do at least one marketing strategy a day to further your internet based business. There are so many routes you can take to spread the word about who you are and what you are offering people that it can get a little overwhelming.
If you are brand new to internet marketing, start learning one concept a week. Let’ say you choose to learn all there is to know about article marketing. Spend your 1st week writing about your niche and submitting it to article publishing sites like ezinearticles.com. The next week, learn another concept like google adwords. Start your PPC (pay per click) campaign and focus on that. Repeat this process for a few weeks until you have at least 5 different marketing strategies executed (if you don’t know other marketing strategies refer to my article about how to market online!). Then, everyday you need to do at least 1 thing.
Whether it’s writing an article or commenting on a Forum, do something. Your schedule may look something like this:
- Monday: write an article!
- Tuesday: post to a forum
- Wednesday: Blog entry and Correspond with other Bloggers
- Thursday: Submit a classified ad to UsFreeAds.com
- Friday: Submit your site to a new directory online.
- Saturday: Write another Article.
- Sunday: Rest if you like or Update your facebook or twitter.
Soon after you have started your internet based business, you will have a steady stream of traffic and the money will magically start to appear. If you don’t do something everyday to further your business you could lose focus and direction. I’m not saying you need to spend 5 hours working on your business, just spend 30-60 minutes a day improving your internet marketing strategy. It is so easy.
